Why we require email verification
Confirming your email address is a basic first step that:
- Makes sure we can reach you about your account
- Discourages casual, throwaway sign-ups
- Supports our reporting and moderation process
Email verification does not confirm a person's identity. Please always stay cautious, involve your Wali or family, and never send money — see our safety guidance.

Coming soon: stronger verification
We're building additional, optional verification to make HalalKnot even safer:
- Phone verification — a one-time SMS code to confirm your number.
- Photo (selfie) verification — a quick selfie check to confirm your photos are really you, with a verified badge on your profile.
These features are planned and not yet live. Until then, email verification is the only automated check in place — so please continue to involve your Wali or family, and stay cautious.
